SafetyCruise is a high frequency radar system that transmits signals from the front of your motorhome. When it detects a potential hazard, the display unit on your dash produces a combination of lights and audible tones to warn you to take steps to prevent an accident.
SafetyCruise only reports vehicles in your lane, even when the road curves.
The SafetyCruise system can track up to 20 vehicles at one time in different lanes, but it only reports the ones within your lane — even when the road curves. If you are traveling with cruise control, SafetyCruise will maintain your pre-set speed or following interval between your motorhome and the vehicle ahead. SafetyCruise automatically adjusts your speed to match the speed of a slower-moving vehicle directly in front of you. If the vehicle ahead widens the gap once more, SafetyCruise resumes cruising at your previous
pre-set speed.
Research shows that even one extra second of warning could prevent up to 90% of rear end collisions. SafetyCruise helps drivers take evasive action before accidents happen.
Of course, you always remain in control and have the ability to override the system at any time by simply using your accelerator or brake pedal. SafetyCruise is designed to be your backup eyes — whenever you glance away to pick up a beverage or check your map or GPS display.
